With less than three weeks of Windmill Walk II remaining, "The Better Halves" have already arrived in Hobart (virtually speaking) and they have been joined today by "Milo Won't Be Happy".
The Walk is seeing club members in teams of five walk from Brisbane to Adelaide, on to Melbourne, up to Sydney and then out to Hobart as they recreate England's Ashes journey from 2021/2022 (all virtually of course, not in person).
Katy Barrett's team have been setting the pace since the early stages of the race, and have pulled clear of their nearest rivals in recent weeks. The Berry family (Milo Won't Be Happy) have also been consistent performers throughout and arrived in the Tasmanian capital a few hours ago. John Ford has continued to pound the streets of RM14 and beyond to keep "The Vets" in third place, while Matt Chapman has single handedly kept "The Heavy Steppers" in the top half of the table. Most sides below them now face a race against time to make it to Hobart by the cut off time (28th April).
The Walk is of course about having some fun and getting members active ahead of the new season, but it would also be great to raise some funds on the journey!! Anyone taking part wanting to make a donation, or anyone not taking part but wanting to sponsor someone in the event or just wanting to make a donation, can do so at the link below. All funds raised will be split evenly between the Club and the local NHS Charity Trust.
