After what has been a hectic few weeks, Upminster Pavilion Club is pleased to confirm that work has now begun on the redevelopment of the Upminster Park Pavilion.
Those living in the RM14 area will probably have seen that our contractors, CBW, moved on to the site in recent days and the stripping out of the existing building has begun. This was only possible thanks to the Herculean efforts of a number of members in both clearing the club so this work could proceed, and also in terms of making necessary arrangements for the redevelopment to begin.
At the moment work remains on target to be completed in time for the start of the 2025 cricket season, and we shall keep members of both the Cricket and Hockey Clubs updated on progress as much as possible over the coming weeks. It will be exciting to see how the project, which has been years in the making, comes to life.
The Pavilion Club committee is continuing to plan and work to ensure that the finished building is completed to the very highest standards. To help with this, and to relieve any potential financial stresses on the two sports clubs, we would encourage any members who would like to contribute towards the redevelopment to do so through one of the following routes:
Buy a Brick:
Members and their families or friends can purchase a blue or gold brick as part of the redevelopment. Those purchasing a brick will have their name added to their own brick to be displayed on the “Blue and Gold Wall” in the redeveloped pavilion. Blue bricks can be purchased for £100 while Gold bricks can be bought for £1,000. Should Cricket Club members wish to buy a brick they should do so through their Pitchero account while Hockey Club members can purchase their bricks through their Teamo account.
Other Donations:
To help with the finances of the final project, the club would welcome donations of any value at all from members, and both the Cricket and Hockey Clubs are able to accept contributions for any amount through their respective platforms. For any Cricket Club members wanting to make a donation of any value this can be done through your Pitchero account while for any Hockey Club members wishing to donate in this way you can do this through your Teamo account.
Larger Donations:
If there are any members who would like to make a larger donation, or members who would like to make their donation anonymously, they should contact Ollie Peck or Rob Bannister (Cricket Club members) or Andrew Berry or Mike Scrivener (Hockey Club members) for more information.
