Information for those attending Sunday’s event at Upminster Park

This Sunday will see the 24th Benefit Match between Upminster CC and an Essex CCC XI take place at Upminster Park. Events on the ground will begin from 9.30am and the big game will get underway at 2.45pm.

We urge all those attending the game to read the information below:

TRANSPORT AND PARKING
There will be NO parking at all at the ground for spectators. Parking will be strictly limited to match officials and Essex players. If you have an accessibility parking permit, then please contact the club so we can assist with parking arrangements. There will also be no street parking in Stewart Avenue on the day of the game.

The Hoppy Hall Car Park (Corbets Tey Road) is around a three-minute walk from the ground while Upminster Station Car Park is a seven-minute walk from the ground. Please check for charges in these car parks.

Bus routes 248 and 370 pass by the ground, while bus route 346 stops near to Upminster Park.

We urge as many people as possible to walk to the event if possible.

FOOD AND DRINK
A number of food and drink options will be available during the day. The Beer Tent will be situated on the Corbets Tey Road side of the ground and will be open from 12.00pm-7.00pm. Draught lagers and ales will be available, as well as bottled beers and cider, wine and prosecco, selected spirits and soft drinks. We have upgraded our bar facility this year to help limit queue times during the game and encourage all those attending to visit the Beer Tent for your refreshments during the event.

The Slow Dough Pizza Company will be on site from 12.00pm serving pizzas and hot food while our regular Ice Cream Van will also be open from 12.00pm. Both of these will be situated at the top end of the ground towards the tennis courts.

We will also be joined for the first time by the DB Shack who will be grilling top quality burgers and sausages.

Once again, we also welcome our good friends from 1st Upminster Scout Group who will be manning the Tea Tent for the game. This will be open from 11.00am serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and other snacks and confectionary. Please do stop by to support the Scouts and see what else they have planned for the coming months.

The Upminster Park Kiosk will also be open throughout the day, serving hot and cold food (situated behind the tennis courts).

TOILETS
Toilets will be available behind the Pavilion from 10.00am and then throughout the day. The Upminster Park toilets (next to Upminster Library) will be available until 4.00pm on Sunday.

PAVILION ACCESS
Unfortunately, due to the number of sponsors and guests attending the game access to the Pavilion area will be restricted between 12.00pm and 6.30pm to players, officials, sponsors and invited guests. Vice-Presidents will have access to the Pavilion from 5.00pm.

FIRST AID
First Aid will be available throughout the game if needed. The First Aid Team will be situated next to the net cages at the Stewart Avenue end of the ground.

LITTER
We ask that everyone attending the event uses the bins provided or takes their litter away with them. Please do not leave litter laying on the ground or next to bins, and please ensure your children or those with you do not leave litter on the ground. The club enjoys an excellent relationship with local residents and other park users and we would like everyone to work together to ensure the park is kept in excellent condition.
