Upminster have named a 13 player squad for the Benefit Match with Essex on 15th September, with six debutants selected.
1st XI skipper Pulkit Gupta will captain the side for the second time, and he will lead what is one of the most youthful line-ups Upminster have fielded in this fixture. Women’s 1st XI skipper Zoe Quested will make her debut, and she will be joined by Lois Gable who has enjoyed an excellent season alongside Quested in women’s cricket this year. 1st XI opener Mo Ahmad will also be making his first appearance in this game as will all-rounder Jeevan Singh who has enjoyed an excellent first season with the club. Mark Schofield, who has been a stalwart of the 2nd XI and 3rd XI for many years as well as serving on the club’s committee for more than a decade, will finally get to enjoy the big game from the other side of the boundary, while Joshan Narbheram completes the list of debutants after an excellent season in senior and junior cricket where he captained the U16s to the semi-finals of the Matchplay.
Callum Berry and Jamie Green also help to give the squad a youthful feel, while Shafiq Rahman will make a record breaking 16th appearance in this fixture.
